Communication is transmitted through optical cables, and when laying remote communication optical cables, outdoor overhead methods must be considered. So what are the construction methods for outdoor overhead optical cables?

(1) The overhead suspension method of hanging wires is simple and inexpensive, and is widely used in China. However, adding hooks and arranging them is time-consuming.

(2) The suspended wire winding overhead method is more stable and requires less maintenance work. But specialized wrapping machines are needed.

(3) The self-supporting overhead method has high requirements for the main line, is difficult to construct and maintain, and has a high cost. Currently, it is rarely used in China.

(4) When overhead, a guiding device must be added at the point where the optical cable leads to the main line, and the optical cable should be avoided from dragging the ground. Pay attention to reducing friction when pulling optical cables. Each trunk should have a section of fiber optic cable left for expansion and contraction.

(5) Pay attention to the reliable grounding of metal objects in the optical cable. Especially in mountainous areas, high-voltage power grid areas, and multiple regions, there are generally three grounding points per kilometer, and even non-metallic optical cables are used.
